Capturing an Image with SnagIt |
Objective: |
| This job aid will teach you how to capture desktop, window, scrolling window –almost anything, edit it (add arrows, shapes, thoughts, etc), and share it (send mail, print, web, etc). |

| Step one: Select capture profile. |
| |
Open SnagIt, select capture profile – a window to file, a scrolling window, an entire screen,an object on the screen, a region to clipboard, a region to file
Then press the Capture key. |

| Step two: Select the output option. |
| |
SnagIt will open the Capture Preview Window. Click an output on the output options bar.

| Step three: Finish. |
| |
Click Finish to close the capture preview file. |

| Editing an Image: |
| |
Open an existing file. For editing, you will need the Tools panel (usually located on left-hand side of your screen). The individual buttons work similarly to those in Photoshop. Using them, you can change the color of an object, draw a line, an arrow, a geometric shape, you can erase a segment, cut it, highlight it or underline it. Using this panel, you can also add text to your image, add a callout or a stamp (e.g. a highlighted circle, a lightbulb, a paper clip, etc.) |
