Adding a Multiple Choice Question to an Existing Test in eCollege

Objective:

Using this job aid, professors and instructors at the University of South Alabama will be able to add a multiple choice test question to an existing test in the eCollege system.

Step one: Author View

Make sure you are in the author view of your course. You will know if you are in author view because the course will appear red if you are. If you are not in this view, click the link, labeled author, in the upper left hand corner of the course to enter author view.

Step two: Click on a Unit

Once you are in author view, click the unit or standard your existing test is located in. Then select the test you would like to add the question to.

Step three: Select the Question Type

Once you have selected the test you would like to add the question to, your screen will change to the exam building screen. From here, you will select the type of question you would like to add, using a drop down menu.

Step four: Type the Responses

After you have selected the type of question you would like to add, in this case a multiple choice question, your screen will change to the question screen. From here you will add your question, your response choices, and mark the correct answer by filling in the correct corresponding bubble.

Step five: Add

Once you have filled in all of the needed information, remember to click add in order to save your question to the test.

Step six: Done

Once you click add, your question will be added to your test and you will be brought back to the exam building screen. From this screen, you can see your question, edit it, add point values, and even delete the question.
