Working with Windows Movie Maker |
Objective: |
You will be able to capture and edit your movie clips. You will be able to add transitions, sound, and still photos to your video using the windows moviemaker software. |

| Step one: Start the Program |
| |
- Click on “Start”
- Programs”
- Windows movie maker
|

| |
| |
| Step two: Capture video from digital video |
| |
- Click on “Capture video”
- “Capture from video device” or “import video”
- Get video from folder “filename”
|

| Step three: Load video clips , still photos, and music into Movie Maker |
| |
- Click on “import video” for video
- Get video from folder “file name ”
or
- Click on “import photo” for still photos
- Get photo from folder “fine name”
or
- Click on “import music” for audio
- Get music from folder “file name”

Step four: Edit the beginning and ends of a video clip |
| |
- Rolling up the ends method
- Click on “show timeline” so that “show storyboard” appears
- Click at the beginning of the movie when two red arrows appear the drag to left to roll up the ends
- Splitting method
- Hold down “ctrl”
- In ‘show timeline’ click at the point you want to split
- Click ‘split'

Step five: Add a title screen |

Step six: Add Effects for clips |
| |
- Click on “Edit Movie”
- Select “View Video effects” from drop down menu
- Make sure you are in “Show timeline” mode
- Scroll down to select the type of effect
- Click on the effect of your choice “fade in, from black”
- Hit “Play” on the “video control button” to view the effect
- Drag the effect and drop it on the storyboard
- You should see a blue color star appear on the clip

Step seven: Add transitions between clips |

- Click on “Edit Movie”
- Select “View Video transitions” from drop down menu
- Make sure you are in “Show timeline” mode
- Scroll down to select the type of transition between clips
- Click on the transition of your choice “circle”
- Hit “Play” on the “video control button” to view the transition
- Drag the transition and drop it between the two clips the storyboard
- You should see a blue transition appear on the timeline

| Step eight: Add a sound track with fade in/out |

- Click on “import audio or music”
- Click on “WorldMusic”
- Drag music to time line
